On Saturday 31 August 2019, St George Monastery had the privilege of welcoming dozens of Orthodox pilgrims for a paraklesis service. The Monastery had been working tirelessly since the fundraising initiatives of 2018 to ensure that it would be open to the faithful this winter. The Very Reverend Abbot, Father Kyriakos, held the service in the Church of St George together with the Very Reverend Fathers Christodoulos Economou (Parish of St Nicholas, Marrickville), Prohoros Anastasiadis (Parish of Sts Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene, Liverpool), and Apostolos Tryfillis (Parish of All Saints, Belmore), as well as the Reverend Father Athanasios Giatsios (Parish of St Catherine, Mascot). By the grace of our Lord, the Open Day was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
