There's a small but delicious treat served to welcome guests in households around Greece: "Sweet of the spoon". They are so named because the usual serving size is a well-filled teaspoon, accompanied by a glass of chilled water. Spoon sweets are fruits, and occasionally vegetables, preserved in syrup.
